{"id":2257,"date":"2020-01-08T15:35:05","date_gmt":"2020-01-08T15:35:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/commodityconversations.com\/wordpress2\/?p=2257"},"modified":"2020-01-08T15:35:05","modified_gmt":"2020-01-08T15:35:05","slug":"agricensus-report-52","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/commodityconversations.com\/wordpress2\/2020\/01\/08\/agricensus-report-52\/","title":{"rendered":"AgriCensus Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"news-list-title\">Cargill books 19% hike in Q2 profit despite trade uncertainty, weather<\/h3>\n<div class=\"news-view-body\">\n<p>Global agribusiness major Cargill said its second-quarter earnings rose 19% year-on-year as global meat, animal nutrition and protein demand rose.<\/p>\n<p>The company, one of the so-called ABCD of global agribusiness majors, posted adjusted operating earnings for the quarter ended on November 30 of $1.02 billion.<\/p>\n<p>That compares with\u00a0$853 million during the same period in the previous fiscal year, according to an online statement published by Cargill on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The increase in earnings comes in two of the company&#8217;s four business segments, with Animal Nutrition and Protein, and Industrial and Financial Services booking higher profits.<\/p>\n<p>In Origination and Processing, which includes the company&#8217;s grain handling and soybean crushing segments, and Food Ingredients &amp;
