{"id":2639,"date":"2020-02-05T12:49:30","date_gmt":"2020-02-05T12:49:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/commodityconversations.com\/wordpress2\/?p=2639"},"modified":"2020-02-05T12:49:30","modified_gmt":"2020-02-05T12:49:30","slug":"agricensus-report-54","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/commodityconversations.com\/wordpress2\/2020\/02\/05\/agricensus-report-54\/","title":{"rendered":"AgriCensus Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"news-list-title\">Coronavirus to delay US-China trade deal \u2018export boom\u2019<\/h3>\n<div class=\"news-view-body\">\n<p>The outbreak of the coronavirus in China will delay the \u201cexport boom\u201d in Chinese imports of US goods and services, but the overall economic impact on the US economy will be \u201cminimal,\u201d White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Kudlow said the outbreak of the coronavirus, which has now impacted over 20,700 people, with 427 confirmed deaths, is not \u201ca catastrophe\u201d nor \u201ca disaster\u201d for the US and the global economy.<\/p>\n<p>Yet it will limit China\u2019s ability to step up its purchases in the short term, meaning the anticipated export surge will take longer to be felt.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is true, the export boom from that [phase one] trade deal will take longer [to take effect] because of the virus,\u201d Kudlow said on Fox Business news.<\/p>\n<p>China has committed to buy an additional $76.7 billion worth of US goods and services in 2020, on top of the 2017 baseline figure, including $12.5 billion of agricultural goods such as soybeans, corn, ethanol, wheat and meat products.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople should be very calm about this [the economic impact of the outbreak],&#8221;
